Journey of Self Discovery

Mark Twain says 'The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.' When we are born is past Information, to know why we are born will bring Transfromation.

Learn the essence of life in 7 sessions of "Journey of Self Discovery". Quench your quest & enjoy this journey towards stability, wisdom & bliss.

This highly interactive short course is designed for those who want to know about self-realization, teachings of Bhagavad Gita, and to apply those principles in our life-style. The course would reveal fundamental principles for how to make ourselves more focused, become peaceful, and improve the quality of life.

Course Aims

1. To introduce vedic principles and terminologies, understand their deeper meanings.

2. To get familiarize with spiritual understandings.

3.To bring the spiritual principles into daily practice.

Course Schedule

Day 1 - Key To Happiness

We begin the course by understanding the basic similarities and differences between humans and animals. This analysis helps us realize the special prerogative of human life; the ability to reason and offer permanent solutions to the problems of life.

Day 2 - Who Am I?

A car cannot move on its own; a driver maneuvers it. Similarly the body functions due to the presence of a driver, the soul. The soul pervades the body with consciousness and adds the element of life to the body. What or who is the soul?

Day 3 - Acquiring Knowledge

While Victor first enrages the monster, his anger and self-hate are reinforced by a desire for knowledge. Very soon after he is created, the monster decides to find some sense of life, the word, and the relationships that exist between living things, namely person to person relationships. To learn about these things, the monster learns to read and observes a human family, with much the same vigor as Victor when at the University of Ingolstadt.

Becoming so attached to people within the human family, the monster attempts to interact with them, but due to his hideousness, they are extremely disgusted with him.

Day 4 - Does God Exists?

For millennia saints and holy men of all religious and spiritual traditions pursued an inner calling of God as a solution for seeking permanent happiness. Is this a utopian idea or for real? Can we logically and scientifically prove the existence of God?

If God does exist, is He one or many? How do we explain the existence of so many religions and so many gods? What about the plethora of images and forms in Hinduism? Does God have a form or is He an impersonal light that pervades the whole existence?

Day 5 - Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?

The most popular of the six sessions, this session examines thoroughly the law of action and reaction, also known as the law of karma. The session facilitates the participants to relate to the sufferings of the world more soberly by examining the nature and the purpose of this world.

Day 6 - The Complete Science & Perfection Of Yoga

There have been many yoga systems popularized in the world, especially in this century, but none of them have actually taught the perfection of yoga. In the Bhagavad-gita, Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, teaches Arjuna directly the perfection of yoga.

It is certainly remarkable that the perfection of yoga was taught in the middle of a battlefield. It was taught to Arjuna, the warrior, just before Arjuna was to engage in a fratricidal battle. Out of sentiment, Arjuna was thinking, "Why should I fight against my own kinsmen?" That reluctance to fight was due to Arjuna's illusion, and just to eradicate that illusion, Sri Krishna spoke the Bhagavad-Gita to him.

Day 7 - The Practical Application

The lessons and experiences of the first five sessions create a need for practical life management program. The concluding session offers a healthy package and schedule centered on prayer and meditation. This session address the acutely felt need of balancing our material and spiritual roles.
